Community Development

In Support of Neighborhoods

IBC continues to support the communities it serves on several fronts. The bank's primary mission is to promote the strength, soundness and integrity of Chicago neighborhoods. In 2003, IBC invested capital in order to expand and serve additional neighborhoods, including Bellwood, Stone Park, Melrose Park and Lawndale. We continue to offer affordable loan structures and educational programs, as well as offering community space available for drug and gang intervention, legal seminars and estate planning to this expanding customer base.

Additionally, IBC supports a wide range of community organizations whose goals, like the Bank's, are to invigorate our underserved populations. For example, we support Athletes Against Drugs, an organization that strives to eliminate substance abuse among youth, ages 9-18, through drug prevention education and public awareness. We also support organizations such as St. Charles Borromeo Church, the Meagan Foundation and the Stone Park Police Department. We believe it is especially important to focus on the youth in our communities who will grow into leadership roles and determine the level of positive economic growth in our future.

In 2003, we have continued to support community organizations such as Athletes Against Drugs, United Front and the community organizations of Stone Park, Melrose Park and Bellwood.

Community Investment
International Bank of Chicago offers comprehensive banking services to underserved Chicago neighborhoods including our newest acquisition, the Community Bank of Lawndale , established in 1997 and acquired in 2003. We have also completed construction on a new banking facility in Stone Park serving the Bellwood, Melrose Park and Stone Park communities. Through this investment in Chicago neighborhoods, IBC uses its presence to serve lower-income clients with its financial expertise and array of advanced products. This blend of banking expertise and community investment makes International Bank of Chicago unique among financial institutions. Our customers benefit from the spirit of partnership that binds International Bank of Chicago with its community and the future of our neighborhoods
